Published: December 9, 2014

At Kermans Flooring store, we works hard to stay on top of the latest flooring trends. We’ve been seeing some fun yet practical trends for kitchen floors lately and wanted to pass on the inspiration.

If you’re thinking of putting new floor in your kitchen, we’ve got some tile and hardwood floor recommendations for you!

Tile floor in the kitchen

Tile floor is always a popular choice for Indianapolis homes. It’s easy to clean and with its large variety of types and colors, tile is becoming even easier to match to any decor. One of the most interesting tile trends we’ve seen lately involves using different sizes or shapes of tile to create a beautifully unique floor. Stone tiles in particular are an excellent option for this design trend.

There is a lot more to tile than ceramic.

Tile isn’t just for floors!

Kermans interior design experts (free to all customers) can also help you find just the right tile for a kitchen backsplash.

Hardwood floor in the kitchen

Yes, you can use hardwood in your kitchen! Hardwood brings a special warmth and beauty to your kitchen. It’s becoming more and more common to see hardwood in Indianapolis kitchens. We recommend considering some non-traditional hardwoods such as bamboo or cork but any hardwood can be used in your kitchen with the right finish and maintenance. You might also want to consider a laminate wood floor that is a bit more moisture resistant.
